About two teenagers have lost their lives after an attempted extreme ploy to take selfie became fatal.
According to Reporters, the pair were part of the group of five young men who had taken a hired car to travel on a trip from Alanya to Antalya, on the south-west coast of Turkey.

These graphic images show the horrifying scene after two teenagers were run over by a truck and killed after lying down on the road while trying to get a selfie.

One of the teenagers who survived mourns the death of his friends
Police said that the five had been drinking and blood alcohol tests had been ordered on all of the car occupants. After the tragic accident, the three that survived had collapsed crying over their friends, while the shocked truck driver had been left to call the police and raise the alarm.

The survivors said they had stopped by the airport’s perimeter fence on their way back to look at the planes, and then all five of them decided to lay on the road to take a selfie with one of the planes in the background as it came into land. Because it was late and dark at 9pm, the lorry driver had not seen them, and ran over two of the boys identified as Muhammet Bozkurt, 17, and Caglar Savasci, 19. The other three escaped disaster after managing to roll out of the way at the last minute.

An autopsy is now being carried out at the nearby Akdeniz University Medical Faculty Forensic Medicine Morgue and police said the investigation was continuing.
