HIGHLIGHT ON THE SUG WEEK DAY 6 INTERACTIVE SESSION WITH THE VC



 On the 3rd of July 2015.The Vice chancellor of this great citadel of learning, Prof.Joseph Eberendu Ahaneku took out time of his very busy schedule to interact with students.

  He answered several questionns by students ranging from course waver for final year students,rehearsal studio for the theater arts students,cancellation of lectures during SUG week etc

  The Vice chancellor satisfactorily answered all the questions and gave out hotlines for students who have complaints such as sexual harrasments,intimidation by security personnel and all manner of exam malpractise.

 He promised that such information will be treated with utmost confidentiality.

  Some of the dignitaries present at the event include Dean of Student Affairs, Prof.Ken Nwogu,Senior Special Adviser to the VC, Rev.Fr.Prof.Chika Okpalike, Director of Media and Public Relations, Dr.Emmanuel Ojukwu, Director general of ABS, SUG President, Comr.Precious Ozems, SUG Speaker. Rt.Hon.Nzube Nnamani, SUG Chief Judge and other SUG executives.

 The high point of the event was when the VC announced that the University will be recruiting about 100 students who would work as Sanitation officers and earn 10,000 monthly, provided they maintain a CGPA of 2.5.

He also informed the students about his readiness to host a convocation ceremony in November.

Complete the Science Village quadrangle,Emelda hostel road,build four new hostels (two in Awka,one each @ Agulu and Nnewi campuses).

 Complete the Unizik stadium,Construct 3 new standard football pitches,2 basketball courts and 2 lawn tennis courts.

He also promised an 2 ultra modern 1000 seater capacity Large lecture theatres each for the sciences and the arts&humanities.

The event came to an end,with a thunderous applause by the students who where deeply impressed with the answers the VC gave to all their questions.
