Two Students Crushed to Death by Trailer in Enugu

Two students of New Haven Secondary School in Enugu met their untimely end when a trailer carrying crates of beer lost control and crashed into them on Friday.
The students, who were identified from their ID cards discovered at the accident scene, are Miss Onebunne Mmesom and Master Okolie Chiemerie, both in SSS1A.
According to an eyewitness, the trailer lost control at the IBB flyover, along Akanu Ibiam International Airport road and veered off the bridge.
The driver of the trailer died on the spot while a female teacher who had multiple fractures, was rushed to the National Orthopaedic Hospital.

Construction workers from Arab Contractors Ltd who were working close to the scene of the accident led the rescue operation, pulling out the victims from under the trailer and later pulled up the vehicle to enable officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), to conduct further search for victims.
It was revealed that the driver lost control of the truck due to over speeding.
