Enyimba 1-1 Nigeria U-23: Peoples Elephants hold Dream Team VI

Kadiri Ikhana's side and the country's Olympic team had a shared of the spoils at the on-going Super Four tournament in Abuja
Enyimba FC forced Nigeria U-23 team to a 1-1 draw on Friday at the Super Four Tournament played on Friday afternoon in Abuja.
The People’s Elephant got the curtain raiser in the 33rd minute through Andrew Abalogu who only returned to the side after some time out owing to ankle injury before the Dream Team equalized in the 56th minute after the Aba giants’ goalkeeper, Moses Ocheje couldn’t connect a back pass as substitute Jonathan Osondu capitalized.
Abalogu former player of ABS made effective use of the pass from Ebenezer Odeyemi after the ex-Kogi United striker controlled a cross from Markson Ojobo inside the U-23 18 yard box and then laid it for Abalogu who had the easiest task of rolling it into an unguarded net.
Enyimba almost scored a second goal some minutes after the first but Chinonso Okonkwo’s tailored cross rolled across the face of goal as it was too much for Abalogu to connect but the People’s Elephant were in the ascendancy till the end of the first half.
The Dream Team VI however evened scores in the 56th minute after Ocheje dilly dallied over a back pass and he allowed Osondu to pounce for the equalizer.
The U-23 team got a rude shock towards the end of the first half when their striker, Austin Amutu had to be replaced by Osondu after the Warri Wolves’ pointman got an hamstring injury but the Coach Fatai Amoo tutored side battled on without the player and eventually came back in the second half.
Just like their last game where they played some part of the game to red card offence, Enyimba’s Ifeanyi Anaemena was shown a straight red card for an off the ball incident but the Aba Millionaires did not allow that to dampen their morale as they held on for a share of the spoils.
Enyimba are  third on the log with seven points while Dream Team VI are second with eight points.
