1,372 Students Awarded MTN Foundation Scholarship for 2014

The authorities of MTN Foundation has offered scholarships to about 1,205 science and technology oriented students and 167 brilliant blind students across the country for the year 2014.
The award was announced at the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), during the 2014 MTN Foundation Science and Technology Scholarship awards for the blind students.
Speaking at the event, the Foundation Director, Dennis Okoro said that the successful beneficiaries were drawn from various public tertiary schools, including the science and technology institutes.
According to Okoro, the Foundation had concluded plans to be in Abuja, the federal capital territory where successful students in the northern region would enjoy the gesture and thereafter, extend same to those from the western region which would be held in Lagos on the December 9.
He explained that the exercise was to celebrate academic excellence in students who had worked extremely hard and who had unquestionably deserved an opportunity to continue to pursue their dreams of a higher education.
The MTNF boss, while congratulating the recipients assured that the foundation would continue to support them with the N200,000 yearly, as long as they maintain the required cumulative grade point average (CGPA) scores every year.
