Tertiary Institution Students Protest Lecturers’ Strike In Edo State

Students of the four government owned tertiary institutions in Edo State staged a protest today over the industrial action embarked upon by workers of the institutions.
The students, who carried placards with various inscriptions, barricaded the Benin-Ore Road with used tyres, benches and plastic chairs, leaving motorists stranded for hours.
Speaking on behalf of the students, the SUG President of College of Education, Igueben, Martins Uwaifo, gave the striking staff and the state government three days to resolve the issues failure of which the students would continue with the protest.
He lamented the hardship caused by the lecturer’s strike action on the students as it has already students’ chances of graduating.
