Nasarawa State NUT Protest Non-release of Bio-data Capturing Forms

The Nasarawa state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) staged a protest over non-release of their bio-data capturing forms by the Akwanga Local Government Council Chairman, Mr Abashiya Koto.
The protesters, who converged at the Local Government Education Authority office, carried leaves and placards and obstructed activities at the council secretariat for many hours.
Speaking during the protest, the Chairman of the NUT, Mr Yarima Yohana, said that the protest was to demand the release of their bio-data capturing forms. He said that the welfare of teachers in the area had suffered serious set-back under the current administration in the state.
In his reaction, the Secretary of the council, Malam Sani Umar, described the action of the union as unfortunate, expressing the readiness of the council to dialogue with the union. He appealed for cooperation and understanding from the union to resolve the matter.
