Federal Polytechnic Ado-Ekiti Building Destroyed by Fire

The School of Engineering office building of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti was razed by a fire incident that occurred around mid-night last Friday.
According to an eyewitness, the building was already an inferno by the time the fire service men arrived but they were able to prevent the fire from spreading to other facilities in the School.
Reacting to the incident, the Deputy Registrar (Information), Mr. Ade Adeyemi-Adejolu, described it as a disaster of monumental proportions.
He said that so many sensitive and irreplaceable documents and materials ranging from computers, furniture, office cabinets and the building complex were lost in the inferno.

The Rector of the Institution, Dr. Taiwo Akande, appealed to the Ekiti State Government, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMWA), the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TeTFund), and other arms of the Federal Government to come to the aid of the Polytechnic in mitigating the monumental loses.
