Thursday 4th September,2014.The Enugu Electric distribution company held a customer consultative forum for its customers within the Awka district.The event which was held at  Barnhill hotels,had in attendance top managerial staff of the company and select reepresentatives of EEDC'S customers within the Awka district.

         Some of the dignitaries at the event include Sir Emeka Offor,the Chairman of the board of Directors of the Company,Sir Arthur Eze,Mr.Robert Dickerman.MD/CEO of EEDC,MR.Tope Borishade,DMD OF EEDC and a list of other top management staff.

        The students of Unizik where ably represented by members of Ifite Hostel Presidents Forum,led by its Chairman, Comr. Dominic.The Chairman of the group sternly protested the outrageous bills being given to students especially those who reside in  Ifite,He also solicited for a new relief transformer at Pioneer junction whose residents have been in darkness for the past six months,an improved supply of electricity in the students environs and a cancellation of all the accumulated bills given to the lodges during the six months strike.

        The managers pleaded with the students who were really displeased with EEDC staff  while promising that all their requests would be appropriately handled.

       The MD/CEO also pleaded with all those at the event to help EEDC achieve their goals of delivering high quality services to all their customers by ensuring that customers do their part by paying their bills promptly,reporting any illegal connections in their vicinity,and any case of vandalism to EEDC and the security agencies.

      He assured that if customers could help out with these,it will go a long way in helping the company achieve its goals of providing very quality service.He assured that the companyb was working on distributing modern meters to its consumers soon and that the era of outrageous bills where over.

       A Customer service hotline number was also unveiled at the event for consumers within Awka district alone;09021001352.Consumers where asked to call these line to report any complaints they may have at any point in time.

     The Chairman of the IPF forum and the other excos where commended by the top managers of the company for always being at the fore front in the fight for justice of the students of unizik.
