Akwa Ibom State University Staff embark on Strike over Unpaid Wages

The Staff of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), Ikot Akpaden has embarked on strike over the inability of the management to pay the salaries of workers for over four months.
Aggrieved workers of the institution accused the management of negligence citing that their entitlements and add-ons has not been paid for a couple of months now.
The strike which started on Monday 8th September, 2014 caused suspension of the semester examination which was supposed to commence the same day.
As at this time, the fate of the students remains hanging as the workers vowed to continue the industrial action unless their demands are met.
Efforts to reach the authorities of the university for comments proved abortive at the moment as they are not replying their emails.
