Moshood Abiola Poly student wins Airtel One Mic Talent show

19-year old student of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta in Ogun State, Temidayo Omoniyi, popularly known as Zlatan Ibile has emerged the winner of the Airtel One Mic Talent show, a music talent show put together by Airtel.
The show which commenced on May 5th, was aimed at discovering musical talents from tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
Omoniyi who defeated five other finalists to emerge the winner at the finale which took place at the OK Centre, Ibara GRA in Abeokuta, Ogun State, went home with a brand new KIA Picanto, a recording deal with ID Cabasa’s Coded Tunes and a full artiste makeover.
The panel of judges which included rapper, Reminisce, music producer, ID Cabasa and DJ Jamalot judged the six finalists according to their appearance, stage performance, connection with the audience, creativity, word play and punch line, as well as their performances in acapella, freestyle and individual songs.
The director, Airtel’s Regional Operations, Lagos, Mr. Femi Oshinlaja, said Zlatan Ibile’s performance earned him the confidence of the judges. He said, “Airtel Nigeria is proud to create a unique platform for Nigerian youths to showcase the abundant talents that abound in the country.
“It is for this reason that we have remained committed to our goal of seeking opportunities to promote youth empowerment and development,” he said.
Zlatan Ibile who expressed his appreciation to Airtel for the opportunity said, “I am overwhelmed with joy today for emerging the winner of the talent hunt. I thank Airtel Nigeria for this initiative. It is an encouragement to me that I can rise to the peak of my music career.”
Some of the audience, comprising of students from tertiary institutions in Ogun State, won free airtime and other souvenirs, courtesy of Telco.
