CAN WE MIND OUR BUSINESS ??? BY MARTIN BECK NWORAH

When I say this;I literally mean every word in it. We really want to be developed in this nation and since we're copying the British cum American model;there are a few things we should learn. A university undergraduate studying music told me his role model is Femi Falana(A lawyer),I rebuked him. I asked him where did Nicki Minaj, Tuface,MJ,Jim Reeves and others go to? In the same vein,a computer science student said his role model was Basket Mouth.
I was quick to ask him if he had anything to do with comedy and he said no...why BM then? Minding our business here means sticking to the people in your field and doing what they're doing...and also working hard to outclass them if given the opportunity.
I cannot,as a banker or carpenter(a.k.a Furniture maker),begin to advice an actress or a wannabe actress on how to act;that's not my field. This is where we have an issue in this country. Everyone is a jack of all trade and master of none. We need to focus and mind our own business;that's it. If a lady feels the best thing to do is to spend her resources visiting night clubs, I'll try telling her how wrong it is to do so everytime. But if she refuses,I'll simply mind my business. That won't make me to hate her or call her names;I'll simply respect her lifestyle and make sure we have nothing in common because I detest her lifestyle. Even though I detest it,some other person may like it. It is called variety; and its the spice of life.
In as much as we pray and work hard for our nation to be better,we must respect our boundaries and value the creativity of each other;no matter how bad, immoral or amoral we think it is. On the long run, people will simply fit into their rightful place in life;both as losers, winners and haters. But please, don't be the one person to pour aspersions on someone because you hate his or her way of life;it may be all they got left. Till we get to the Promised Land,I shall be waiting for when you'll pass me a glass of water and thank God for the gift of grace for the race.
